Welcome Home First Steps

Welcome Home First Steps is a FREE home ownership education course outlining everything you need to know about buying your first home.

The course will help you understand the home buying process by providing important information about home ownership, including:

explaining the benefits, risks, costs and obligations of owning a home
telling you how to buy or build a house
giving you some tools and advice to help you plan for and achieve your home ownership goals.

Welcome Home First Steps is available online and in the following main centres – Auckland and Wellington.

Online learning

This learning option will give you flexibility to do the Welcome Home First Steps course at a time that suits you, and still be able to participate in group discussions and get feedback from the tutor online. Fill in the enrolment form to register for this course.

Workshops

Housing New Zealand is changing the way its home ownership programme is delivered. It will be delivered online and via tailored workshops in Auckland and Wellington only.
