Sarah heard about Welcome Home First Steps from her cousin and decided to check it out. “I went and had a look to see what I could find out. I learned quite a bit about how to deal with banks and real estate agents, and all the ins and outs of buying and building a house." She declares that the knowledge learned from the course led to home ownership becoming a reality for her.
According to Sarah, the greatest benefit of owning her own home is the security that it affords her physically and financially. “It’s satisfying knowing that you can change things, and have it the way you want it; and knowing that you’re not going to be told to move out.” Sarah enjoys the fact that she no longer has to pay rent to anybody else, stating that her money. “is actually going back into your own pocket at the end of the day.” It is an investment, she feels, that is definitely worth getting in to.
